What is the PTA?

PTA is an active group of parents, staff members and local businesses who work together to promote the  best education and welfare of all our children. The PTA supports many of the activities, programs and learning tools we have at AES.

Why become a member of the AES PTA?

At AES, we have an incredibly engaged community of teachers, parents and administrators.  We all have one goal – to make a difference in the lives of our children and their education.  AES PTA is a vital and strong organization, that through the time and resources committed by it’s members, helps our school be the very best it can be.

AES PTA supports and runs more than 15 academic enrichment programs in our school.  Funds we raise have been used to enhance classroom-learning opportunities, technology enhancements, school-wide social and academic events, subsidize field trips, and produce directories and yearbooks.

Joining PTA supports our school.  It also supports local, state and national efforts to improve the education of children and the lives of families. Membership provides the opportunity for individuals to raise their voices with others throughout the state and nation to protect children’s rights. Membership ensures that PTA’s voice is heard on issues affecting young people as well as providing opportunities for parent education, communication and leadership development.

If you choose to get more involved in PTA, it will build skills in leadership, communication and advocacy. Active members are a valuable community resource for starting and maintaining projects to benefit children.

Who can be a member of the AES PTA?

Membership is open to all parents/guardians of students AES staff and the community by paying annual dues of $6.00 per person.
PTA general meetings are held throughout the year and are open for everyone to attend. They are a good way to stay informed and have a voice in your child’s educational environment.

Get involved in the PTA!

There are many committees that comprise the PTA and are the cornerstone of the volunteers at AES.  Click here for opportunities to Volunteer at AES.  Being active in your school will give you a sense of community and letting your child know the importance you place on their educational environment.

Support the annual fundraisers sponsored by PTA!

The monies earned from these events go right back into the school. This is especially important during these difficult economic times as funding for public schools has been significantly reduced and there is no indication that the downward trend will change anytime soon. By joining PTA and contributing to the Enrichment fund and/or fund raising events, you are helping to provide the funding for services and extra activities that are not covered by Fulton County.
