Galileo – GALILEO stands for Georgia Library Learning Online, an initiative of the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia. A World Wide Web-based virtual library, GALILEO provides access to multiple information resources, including secured access to licensed products. Get the password for home use from the Media Center.
Galileo for Kids – Galileo for Kids includes SIRS Discoverer, Kids Search, Britannica Elementary, Kids Infobits, Digital Library of Georgia and First Gov for Kids. Galileo for Kids may also be accessed by first logging onto Galileo.
Grolier Multimedia Encyclopedia Online – The New Book of Knowledge Online can be found at this site. Call the library or ask for the home use password at the circulation desk.
Encyclopedia Britannica Online – Use the Complete Encyclopedia Britannica and other reference tools.
OneKey: The Kids Safe Search Engine – OneKey has partnered with Google to provide the largest database of kid safe sites.
Library of Congress – America’s Story – An easy-to-use & entertaining web site designed by the Library of Congress especially for children & families.
Fact Monster – Fact Monster is an ideal reference site for kids ages 8-14 that provides entertainment and educational resources. It combines the contents of an encyclopedia, a dictionary, an atlas, and several almanacs loaded with statistics, facts, and historical records. A single search engine allows you to search all these sources at once.
Scholastic – great site for students, parents, and teachers.
