GET INVOLVED! Junior Achievement and AES

Junior Achievement is a Non-Profit which was created to help inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy. Using hands-on experiences, JA brings the real world to students, opening their minds to their full potential by bridging the real world and education communities. Alpharetta Elementary and Junior Achievement are calling on our parents to support this initiative and make a difference in the lives of students.

We need one or two parent volunteers for your classroom to teach JA during the Spring Semester.

What does it mean to volunteer with Junior Achievement?

The number one responsibility of a JA volunteer is to be a role model for a class of students while facilitating a JA program. Using lesson plans developed by JA, volunteers teach students about personal financial literacy, entrepreneurship and workforce readiness.

As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Weave your personal business experiences into the lessons.
  • Bring a real world understanding to the class.
  • Inspiring students to see the value of business and economics in their own lives.

What is provided to a JA volunteer?

JA provides every volunteer with an inclusive set of materials which allows you to prepare for and teach your class stress-free. As a trained volunteer, you will be given a JA briefcase, containing a comprehensive volunteer guide with complete lesson plans, student worksheets, engaging activity materials, fun posters, and the contact information for your school and classroom teacher. The only detail left to the volunteer is deciding which business stories, experiences and advice you would like to share with your class.

What is a JA volunteer’s time commitment?
